CMS / Product Design
Project Overview
Client: The Casa Labs Startup
Industry: Custom printing
Timeline: 5 weeks (2025)
My Role: product designer / art director
Tools & technology used: Recraft.ai, Shopify and Adobe Suite.
Context
In Colombia, the print and packaging landscape is fragmented, offline, and inconsistent. With suppliers scattered across multiple channels, no centralized catalog, and widely varying production standards, businesses lose valuable time coordinating vendors, comparing prices, and managing quality. They waste time and money managing production instead of focusing on growth.
There is no streamlined, reliable platform that consolidates print products and merch in one place, creating a clear need for a unified, digital solution that simplifies the entire process.

The Challenge
The platform required:
• Organizing 300+ customizable products
• Structuring a complex catalog with multiple variants
• Creating intuitive navigation for non-technical business owners
• Building high-quality, realistic product mockups
• Delivering a functional MVP under tight time constraints
The risk was fragmentation. Without strong architecture, the experience would feel overwhelming and chaotic.
The challenge was to create clarity at scale.

The Strategic Approach
We approached the creation of The Casa Labs using an agile methodology, allowing us to iterate fast, stay aligned, and deliver a complex MVP under a tight timeline. Our process unfolded in four key stages:
1. Comprehensive Architecture: we organized 300+ products into clear categories to define scope and create intuitive navigation.
2. Shopify CSV Setup: we prepared a full CSV with all products and variants, enabling a fast, bulk upload and clean structure.
3. Parallel Work: Implementation + Mockups. With two people, we divided tasks between site setup and mockup creation. Once stable, we collaborated to refine mockups and visual consistency.
4. Agile Check-Ins: Two weekly meetings ensured alignment, rapid problem-solving, and continuous iteration. This allowed us to deliver a structured MVP without sacrificing quality.

The Brand & Visual System Integration (With AI Integration)
Beyond structural architecture, the platform required a cohesive and scalable visual system capable of supporting 300+ customizable products.
As Art Director, I led the development of a high-fidelity visual ecosystem, integrating AI-driven workflows to enhance realism, speed, and consistency.
Our approach included:
• Designing a structured mockup framework to ensure consistency across categories
• Developing prompt systems using ChatGPT to standardize visual outputs
• Utilizing AI tools (Recraft and generative image workflows) to produce realistic, scalable product visualizations
• Refining outputs manually to align with brand tone and quality standards
• Establishing visual rules to maintain cohesion across all product representations
This allowed us to:
• Generate high-quality mockups at scale
• Maintain visual consistency across 300+ SKUs
• Reduce production time without compromising brand perception
• Elevate realism beyond traditional static mockups
The result was a visually immersive e-commerce experience that reinforced credibility, product quality, and brand trust.

The Outcome
The Casa Labs launched as a structured, scalable e-commerce platform capable of managing 300+ customizable products without sacrificing usability or visual cohesion.
Within the first 24 hours of launch:
• The platform received strong initial traffic
• Secured its first 3 orders organically
• Validated early demand for the concept
As the project is still in its early stage, long-term performance metrics are still being gathered. However, the immediate traction demonstrated:
• Clear product-market interest
• Effective navigation and discoverability
• Strong visual credibility from day one
Most importantly, the platform now operates on a scalable infrastructure capable of supporting growth, expansion, and future product additions without structural friction.
